Moscato Recommendations

After researching Moscatos, I have found that the best tasting brands only have 5 to 5.5% alcohol. (low alcohol) That means that you can sip on it all day. They are sweet. Great dessert wines.

Some recommendations include
1)Brand: ZaZo Mascato
2)Brand: Villa Lanata Moscato d'Asti
3)Brand: Risata Moscato d'Asti

Average price in US dollars: $15 to $17 for 750ml bottle.

Those brands with 8 to 10% alcohol content are too strong and not as sweet. Definitely look for < 5.5% alcohol content to savor the taste. On a separate note, I broke TWO corkscrew bottle openers trying to open the Villa Lanata brand Moscato. It was quite a bit of work getting their cork out! It still tastes good!

Hand warmers: Fighting cold weather!

I have heard so much about the benefits of handwarmers. I picked these up from a Target store for a dollar. They are designed to just slip into your gloves when you plan to be exposed to the cold for an extended period of time.

It felt like it was Christmas when I opened up the package. They naturally heated up pretty quickly. The pouch is it! Use it and then toss into the trash.

Panera Bread: The Lunch Spot for "Pink slips"

I was eating lunch in Panera Bread last month just after New Years when there were about six people discussing how a co-worker was not working out. No one had any identifying logos on their shirts; so I have no idea which company that the group represented. However, the consensus of the group was that the "guy" was not up to speed and was not working quickly enough in his spare time to get up to speed. One lady was ready to hand the guy a "pink slip." Another guy suggested everyone take one job component and begin training him individually.

I have no idea who the guy was, but he should be thanking God that some of his co-workers were willing to give him some more time to become more efficient in his job. The group set up the same time and place for next month before going their separate ways.

Then another couple took over their table, and guess what this couple was discussing? Yes, another employee that was not producing at yet another company.

The two co-workers were looking at charts on the computer, and they stated clearly the employee in question was not meeting production.

I was amazed that my whole lunch was surrounding people potentially getting fired within the next month.

On another note, if all your co-workers are taking lunch at the exact same time, then you might want to drop by Panera Bread for lunch. You may never know who might be there!

Meal replacement: A new twist on Oatmeal!

As you know Oatmeal can be a nutritional meal replacement option. Well, I do not cook alot; so finding healthy choices that are tasty and filling are hard to find. I stumbled across this new specialty all natural oatmeal in a local coffee shop. The brand is "Umpqua Oats" out of Oregon. I liked the concept. The fruits and nuts are already dried and mixed in with the oats. You just add hot water from the coffee machine to the designated line on the cup. Put the lid back on the cup. Let it sit for about three minutes. Stir and Enjoy!

I think McDonalds have also added a second flavor to their oatmeal selection.

I think oatmeal is the next new wave of healthy meal replacement. Umpqua Oats come in different flavors as well. I think the coffee shop that I purchased this cup from had about six flavors. The cost was around $2. (two US dollars) Not bad, right?

Mobile smartphones: Touchscreen versus Mouse

Mobile phones have come a long way. Looking at the three phones pictures from the right to the left. There's the flip phone then the Blackberry Curve II then a touchscreen smartphone on the far left.

I love my Blackberry for the full keyboard and the email capabilities. However, I typically have to teach others who are used to using touchscreen how to use it.

In order to scroll down to view a coupon sent through email on the Blackberry Curve II, you have to stroke your fingers downward over the mouse button. There is no touchscreen capabilities on this particular Blackberry.

Now, touchscreen users typically move their fingers in an upward motion to scroll down the page on a touchscreen smartphone. This motion is opposite of operating the Blackberry's mouse ball.

I noticed this difference a lot lately so I decided to make an article about it. Try it out!
