Makeup artist and Class Participant Toniette Green completed my final look during an eight hour make-up artistry workshop that I teach for $120 USD.  She was introduced to everything from eyebrow kits to BB creams to fixation sprays.  I wore black attire so that she could feel free to choose whatever color scheme she so desired.

Tone Correcting Powder Palette

 After searching at Walmart, Marshall's, Sally's Beauty Supply, and finally Target (store), I found this "Color Correction" Palette by (eyes lips face) brand that I was looking diligently for.  The palette includes mint green, yellow, pink and pale blue powders.  I almost left out of Target without it, then Viola- I found the "elf" brand over to the side.

 And at an awesome price too, it was $3.00 USD!!!  As a makeup artist, you need these colors as a way to correct undertones for those with redness in their skin, dark circles, blemishes, etc.  Makeup artists teaching at the hair shows often sell these type of palettes, but it is very hard to find them in the stores.

I was so excited with my find and its price.  I have been getting an urge to do more makeup artistry.

TIP for home:  If you have redness, use the green to tone the redness down.  Just like a hairdresser would use an "ash" haircolor to cancel out brassiness.  You get the picture!  It has NEW on the packaging.  I hope it stays around!!!!!

As a makeup artist, I prefer to deliver lightweight and natural finishes.  I do not offer the lash extensions; therefore stage/performance makeup is not my specialty. 

I enjoyed the opportunity to serve as Makeup Artist for the Star Power Charity Mothers Day Makeover 2014.  I teamed up with other warmhearted hair stylists to deliver an uplifting day for both the mothers receiving the makeovers as well as for all the volunteers involved.  It just felt good to give back to the community!

MakeUp Artistry by Cherry

I just returned from the Bronner Bronners Hair Show, and I had the pleasure to take a makeup artistry class from Cherry.  She gave out some great makeup artistry tips.  One of them is to buy jewelry compartment holders similar to the one pictured below to hold foundation colors instead of trying to keep up with 15 different foundation tubes.

She recommended the rounds ones.  Another classmate mentioned that lipsticks/lip color can also be stored this way as well to save on handling of lipstick tubes.

I definitely found Cherry to be knowledgeable about the MakeUp Artistry field.  She offers classes.  The picture at the beginning of this article provides information on her next upcoming class.
