The Beauty of Trump's Inauguration Speech

Trump's speech was NOT politically correct.

It probably offended the Obama Administration.

It stepped on some toes.

It promised to step on even more feet.

Surprisingly, that is the beauty in President Trump's Inauguration speech; 

he was not sticking with protocol.

Furthermore, I believe his speech was the shortest in history which supports some peoples' comments that it "lacked substance" and was NOT what Americans were used to.

So, finally, we have a true "change" to come to the White House.  This is not to discredit President Obama's Administration.  A Black man can only achieve so much in America.  I salute President Obama for a job well done.  I did not hear Trump calling out any names in his speech.  I only heard that my voice can also make a difference under his Administration as it did under the Obama's Administration.  I am proud of the Obama Administration.  I am also excited about this new Trump era even though I voted for Hillary Clinton.

People are uncomfortable right now because Trump is not a "career politician."  Honestly, that can be a good thing.  The country was due for a real change of pace.  We got it!  Good or bad - Change is here!  We need to embrace it.  We need to stop slinging mud.  The election is over.  Let Mr. Trump do his job.  With that said,

Mr. President, here's my concerns:

• I am tired of bank fees screwing hard working Americans.
• I am tired of Human Resources departments no longer caring about those employees on their front line.
• I am tired of asking for State Prison reform. (for my #exonerateMichael campaign)
• I am tired of State Homeowner Associations.
• I am tired of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
• I'll add more to this list later.

And to the Americans that voted for Mr. Trump, I salute you for being courageous enough to "try something different." May God Bless these United States of America.

April 2016: A Letter to President Barack Obama

This hexagram represents of the Star of David and/or Shield of God.

I am choosing this symbol as the start of my letter because of its distinction and because it is a symbol of protection over the six directions circumferencing one's body.

So I begin with Greetings!

Dear President Barack Obama:

As your final term ends, a friend reminded me that I needed to write you.  I figure this letter/article may reach you before you leave your office in the White House.

I have a "non-violent" cousin in prison serving a life sentence for a crime that he did not commit in Augusta, Georgia. I am disappointed that Georgia has no "conviction review unit" like the one that Brooklyn, New York District Attorney Ken Thompson started in 2014.  

I am even more appalled by the insensitivity that people have toward prisoners.  They seem to forget that Jesus was the only perfect man to walk this Earth. I have been told repeatedly that charge stacking for Black men is nothing new.  

When did we, the Blacks, become so complacent about our "brothas" locked up on phony charges? Meanwhile, Wall Street bankers are legally robbing people everyday and are never getting locked up.

This certified letter just got refused  on April 15, 2016 that I sent to my cousin at Telfair State Prison.  I am hoping that means that he will be released soon because all my other certified letters were successfully delivered to him in the past.

Some people may make me out to be the "bad guy" for bringing attention to this matter. However, the FBI has been investigating Michael Christopher Blocker's burglary turned rape case since January 2016 or even as early as December 2015.

Augusta, Georgia's chief judge Overstreet who is retiring soon is probably biased against burglars since he has had his home burglarized a few times between 2008 and 2010 according to media reports such as  http://onlineathens.com/stories/082010/bre_698045051.shtml#.VxOT7dQrJi0

I can only assume that all burglars including the unarmed ones like the one that he killed in 2010 may not get much leniency in Augusta, Georgia.  Now, don't misunderstand me,  I sympathize with all crime victims.  Let us face it - we have all been victims of crimes and wrongdoings at one time or another.  All crime is wrong.

While I do not condone my cousin's past history of being a non-violent repeat offender, my uncle taught him better, and all of that wisdom is what my cousin is drawing upon to persevere through the nightmare of arriving at a prison under the assumption he had a 20 year sentence only to find out he was railroaded into a one way ticket which equated to life without parole.

When the court system does a "magic trick" like that, it is a lesson for everyone to learn from.

I debated on including this old "modelling picture," but I decided to do so because "Westerns and outlaws" are a part of history and entertainment.  Even post conviction attorneys have shared with me that "burglary" is NOT a "deadly sin."  My cousin Michael Christopher Blocker WAS a burglar; never a RAPIST, never a KIDNAPPER, always NON-VIOLENT.

So Mr. President Barack Obama,  here are my requests before you leave office:

1) Can you see that EVERY state in the United States of America adds a "Conviction Review Unit" within their District Attorney's offices?  (The court systems currently don't have enough "checks and balances.")

2) Can you see that my cousin Michael Christopher Blocker is exonerated in the state of Georgia? (He should be innocent until proven guilty.  The State never proved him guilty by trial jury of anything in 2008.)

3)  And finally, can you keep me in mind for a job? As a full-time hair professional, my industry changes with the trends.  I need to plan for retirement at some point or another.

Well, thank you for an awesome 8 years of United States Presidency, and these 8 minutes of your time reading this "call to action."  May God bless you, your family, and these United States of America.

Book Review: The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander

"The New Jim Crow" book heavily surrounds the "War on Drugs."  Our Black men, our good Black men are stuck in mass incarceration. New caste systems are being formed.  The book's Introduction gives a great summary of each chapter.  

After seeing the one hour special where President Barack Obama visits the prisoners inside a prison earlier in 2015, I really started to understand the failure with the "War on Drugs."  Even President Clinton admitted to a failure in the "War on Drugs."  So I started skipping over some chapters because I really wanted more ammunition to assist me with my cousin's prison case.  Then on page 186, I found something.

"Once arrested, defendants are generally denied meaningful legal representation and pressured to plead guilty whether they are or not.  Prosecutors are free to "load up" defendants with extra charges, and their decisions cannot be challenged for racial bias."

So my cousin was denied meaningful legal representation - neither the private attorney nor the public defender questioned the reported DNA match judging by from what I have been told and the notes that I have read.

And despite no evidence of rape, my cousin was pressured to plead guilty for burglary, rape, and kidnapping charges - he repeatedly refused to plead guilty for rape and kidnapping.  Over and Over and Over again - NO Rape.  He would not plead guilty to rape.  My cousin would NOT give in so how did they still railroad him with rape charges?  It appears they did it "by any means necessary."  I call it "bait and switch." I also classify the State's actions surrounding my cousin as "beyond the normal range of corruption."

And yes, my cousin was loaded with extra charges - from burglary to burglary and rape to Burglary, rape, and kidnapping.

In my opinion, it is a sad situation to threaten defendants with the addition of "ghost dope" to an existing drug charge in order to get a guilty plea, but when the State is adding totally different fraudulent charges unrelated to the repeat offender's past record, that initiative is just reckless and an outright disgrace to the already questionable justice system.  

I do not condone any criminal activity whether it is associated with the defendant or the State representative(s).

#exonerateMichael from rape charges by removing the life sentence and giving him credit for the jail time served leading up to the trial and sentencing. 

Thank you in advance to those in positions to reverse this involuntary guilty plea that was obtained unlawfully in Augusta, Georgia.

Mayor Anthony Foxx Nominated as Transportation Secretary

As seen in this Creative Loafing newspaper, Mayor Foxx and President Barack Obama have been networking at least since the Democratic National Convention came to Charlotte, NC.  The DNC was successfully held in Charlotte, NC in September 2012. The Lynx train system was key to getting into the uptown area.  It ran really smoothly.  Great police presence.  The crowds were upbeat and orderly.

There has been some controversy over the local Charlotte Douglas International Airport and how it is being controlled.

So Mayor Anthony Foxx's  nomination by President Obama is a logical choice in regards to the topic of transportation.

Obama versus Romney: Blue Collar vs White Collar

My clients are all asking me . . . so what's the story with the yard signs . . . I say:  I placed my "Obama" sign out first then three days later the "Romney" sign shows up.  That is the story . . .

Is not it interesting that the Obama sign is "blue" and the Romney sign is "white."  Our economy is built on "blue collar jobs" because everyone can not have a six figure salary.  The White collar workers usually do not need public schools and any public assistance. Often times the white collar workers are disconnected to the big picture of America.  I personally have been on both sides of the fence which makes me more well rounded.  I believe Barack Obama has been on both sides of the fence too which makes him more easily to connect.

In light of the damages from Hurricane Sandy, President Obama still comes across as a loving, concerned citizen.  Romney comes across as politically correct with little heartfelt emotion displayed.

This is just my opinion.  Election day is next Tuesday.

2012 United States Presidential Voter Information

Official "early voting" has begun for the popular vote tally. It took me about one hour and five minutes, but I cast my "absentee vote" early.

Sorry that these pictures photographed sideways. They looked fine on my camera. Anyway, the separate designation for casting one's presidential choice has been a controversy in South Carolina. Apparently, people are being mislead to think that a Straight Party ticket covers everything. Well, at least in North Carolina, it did not. You vote for the Presidential candidate separate from the rest of the offices.

North Carolina has a Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson on the Presidential ballot. After further research there are four other persons seeking the 2012 Presidential office besides Obama and Romney. Jill Stein of the "Green Party" is one of them. Virgil Goode of the Constitution Party is another. Third party candidates can be a write-in.

The 2012 Democratic National Convention Charlotte

The 2012 DNC was held in Charlotte, NC from September 3 - 7, 2012.

Time Warner Cable Arena was the primary venue of the convention.

CNN Coverage was definitely there!
