Poem: No Troublemakers

No Troublemakers

By Benita Blocker, 2022

There's no Troublemakers in my inventory.

So the slave Master says with pride.

I treat my slaves well so they don't get out of line.

Their clothes on their backs are clean so they are just fine.

They have church every Sunday.

A large supper makes it a fun day.

No outside influences are permitted.

No secular music; only gospel music is the limit.

No movie theaters; no sports arena.

Just the prison of the plantation and their quiet demeanor.

Aren't you blessed to have Masters like us?

A mom and a dad that you can trust.

Remain a good little girl and just hush.

Poem: Sibling Rivalry

 Sibling Rivalry

by Benita Blocker

Sibling rivalry - say It isn't So

Look at the book of Genesis - Cain and Abel

Just in case you didn't know.

Or also in Genesis - Esau and Jacob,

Esau's birthright stolen with the Mastermind being their own mother- that hoe.

I remember my own sibling always borrowing my things, stealing from my piggy bank, even born on my birthday.

I've been dealing with that devil for all of her existence.

Never realized the joy that I have now that she's out of my Life by her own insistence.

So count your blessing sometimes there are people you have to let go.

It's easier when they divorce you first-

It's a blessing when you have no thirst.

Happiness is on the other end when your conscience is clear.

You look in the mirror and just say I love you dear.
